Military Counterpart Training |
The mission of the American Cadet Alliance is..."To instill in young Americans, through a multi-faceted cadet program which is physically and mentally challenging and rewarding, the importance of national pride, service to others, and maintaining a drug-free and gang-free lifestyle." This is accomplished, in part, through the Military Counterpart Training Program. |
Brigade Commanders under the direction of the National Chief of Staff ensure that the educational curriculum of their Brigade is augmented with military counterpart training as available. Through the efforts of non-paid professional State Directors, Battalion, Company, and Detachment Commanders, Cadets are afforded the opportunity to train with Active and Reserve Units of the Navy, Marine Corps, Army, Air Force and Coast Guard, as well as the Army and Air National Guard. |
| Counterpart training strives to be as realistic as possible. As a vital element of the educational curriculum, counterpart training reinforces lessons learned in the classroom, builds esprit de corps, and motivates Cadets to participate in other less exciting training which may be essential to their overall academic, physical, and spiritual development. |

Counterpart training includes all aspects of military orientation including a familiarity with Combat Arms. Commanders are charged with exercising their best judgment to ensure Cadets only participate in training which is healthy and wholesome for young people. All counterpart training is approved by National Headquarters. |
Counterpart training is restricted to Cadets, ages 13 through 18, who have successfully completed recruit training, have demonstrated maturity, and an appropriate level of military proficiency. Commanders always bear in mind, that the people they are charged with leading, Officers and Cadets alike, are direct representatives of the American Cadet Alliance and must conduct themselves as a credit to the program and the Armed Forces. |
