The American Cadet Alliance, Inc. (ACA) was founded on April 10th, 1909 as the Colonel Cody's Boy Scouts. The organization quickly evolved into a 'Junior' Naval Organization with Marine Cadet Detachments. Prior to the Vietnam War, the ACA was a dominant presence in Cadeting with over 23,000 Cadets and Officers nationwide. Today, the ACA holds the distinction of being the oldest military cadet organization in continuous existence in the United States.

The purpose of the ACA is to provide America's youth with the opportunity to grow mentally, physically and spiritually through the promotion of the military arts and sciences, character and physical development, and education in, and allegiance to, the Constitution of the United States of America.
